Originally developed with pilots in mind, the Big Crown combined an enlarged crown with a clear and practical calendar display. Instead of placing the date inside a conventional aperture, a dedicated central hand indicates the current date along the perimeter of the dial. This distinctive arrangement creates visual balance while making the calendar function an integral part of the watch’s design.

The black dial combines a radiant sunburst centre with a finely grained outer section. These contrasting surfaces respond subtly to changing light, adding depth without compromising the watch’s understated character. Skeletonised hour and minute hands keep the display open, while the slender pointer-date hand draws the eye towards the softened calendar scale surrounding the dial.
