The Mido Multifort TV Big Date Alebrijes M049.526.11.081.02 brings one of Mido’s most distinctive contemporary case designs together with a richly expressive celebration of Mexican imagination. Created as the brand’s 2026 Día de Muertos Special Edition, it transforms the Multifort TV Big Date into a colourful mechanical canvas inspired by Alebrijes and the enduring connection between memory, life and generations.

Mido has introduced a new Día de Muertos Special Edition annually since 2020. For 2026, the tradition enters the Multifort TV family for the first time. At the centre of the grey gradient dial is a radiant Calavera, surrounded by fantastical Alebrijes, vivid colours and intricately layered decorative elements.

The dial reveals an additional dimension after dark. Carefully applied Super-LumiNova brings selected details to life, changing the appearance of the Calavera and surrounding creatures as ambient light fades. Luminous hands and indexes preserve practical readability while contributing to the watch’s dramatic nighttime character.

Positioned prominently at 12 o’clock, the signature Big Date display uses two independently rotating discs to create numerals almost three times larger than those found in a conventional date window. The framed aperture integrates naturally into the composition without diminishing the detail of the Alebrijes artwork.

Inside is the automatic Mido Calibre 80, delivering up to 80 hours of power reserve. Its Nivachron balance spring is manufactured from a titanium-based alloy engineered to reduce the effects of magnetic interference while improving resistance to shocks and the passage of time. The decorated movement and oscillating weight remain visible through the transparent exhibition caseback.

The TV-shaped case measures 39.2 mm long by 40 mm wide and is manufactured from 316L stainless steel. Its balanced 11.5 mm thickness allows the expressive dial to command attention without making the watch excessively bulky. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides improves clarity, while the screw-down crown and water resistance to 100 metres provide practical protection for everyday wear.

This Special Edition offers three distinct configurations. The integrated stainless-steel bracelet creates the collection’s familiar sport-luxury presentation, while the supplied red rubber strap brings out the dial’s brightest accents. A second additional option—a stainless-steel Milanese mesh bracelet—introduces a lighter, more vintage-inspired appearance. The interchangeable construction allows the personality of the watch to change without losing its unmistakable identity.
