The NS30 Electrostatic Movement
At the heart of every model within the Electrostatic Collection lies Accutron’s proprietary NS30 movement.
Energy is generated through twin turbines that rotate at remarkable speeds as a result of natural wrist motion. These turbines spin between two electrodes affixed to the movement, producing electrostatic energy. The generated energy is stored within an accumulator and distributed to two separate motor systems:
• A world’s first electrostatic motor powering the fluid, uninterrupted sweep of the seconds hand
• A dedicated step motor driving the hour and minute hands
This dual-motor architecture allows for exceptional visual smoothness and operational efficiency. The seconds hand glides seamlessly across the dial — a defining hallmark of the Electrostatic platform.
Intelligent Power Management
To preserve energy without compromising accuracy, the NS30 incorporates a sophisticated Power Saving Function.
After five minutes of inactivity, the seconds hand automatically stops at the 12 o’clock position to conserve stored energy. Importantly, the watch continues to keep precise time — the hour and minute hands remain active.
When wrist motion resumes for several seconds, the seconds hand gradually returns to the correct second indication and full visual operation is restored.
