The Mido Ocean Star Decompression Timer 1961 resurrects an iconic 1960s diver with a faithful yet modern reinterpretation — striking the perfect balance between heritage and performance. The 40.50 mm black PVD-coated stainless-steel case houses a bold, functional design: a matte black dial accentuated by a vibrant multicoloured decompression scale — rendered in concentric rings of yellow, green, pink, and blue — that guides safe ascent times for diving. A uni-directional rotating bezel adds dive functionality, while the “glass-box” sapphire crystal nods to vintage Plexiglas designs.

Inside, the watch is powered by Caliber 80, an automatic movement with a robust 80-hour power reserve and a Nivachron™ balance-spring for enhanced resistance to magnetic interference and stable timekeeping. The 200 m (20 bar) water resistance, screw-down crown and caseback, and generous lug-to-lug dimension ensure the watch is built for durability and real-world use.
